DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Accounting Process Oversight
Oversee assigned accounting processes (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger) to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS) and company accounting policies and procedures
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls within your area to safeguard assets, prevent errors and fraud, and guarantee data integrity.
Review the work of your team for accuracy and completeness before submitting reports or processing transactions.- Approve and oversee payments to suppliers
Verify monthly inventory reports (finished goods, work-in-process, raw materials, cost of goods sold).
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Ensure prompt and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes for timely generation of financial reports.
- Oversee, reconcile, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions used for the generation of Trial Balance, Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
Prepare financial reports and consolidated financial statements: SEC/PSE Reports (e.g., 17A, 17Q, GFFS)- Analysis of financial data to identify trends and support decision-making
- Manage tax and regulatory compliance by:
Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.- Verifying and ensuring the accuracy of tax returns filed with the BIR
Ensuring compliance with BIR, SEC, and other government regulations.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits, business permit renewals, and other reporting requirements
Establish and manage a system for accounting systems and documentation, including:
- Defining clear procedures for data entry, recordkeeping, and document approval processes.
Standardizing accounting forms and templates to ensure consistency.- Developing and maintaining user manuals and training materials for accounting software and procedures.
Implementing a system for archiving and retrieving accounting records securely and efficiently.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance accounting systems and procedures
- Team Leadership and Development:
Directly supervise a team of accounting staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Review revenue reports prepared by staff
Facilitate training and development for team members to ensure they stay up-to-date on accounting procedures, software, and regulations.- Address any issues and concerns affecting team members performance and the company's overall objectives.
Report directly to the CEO and handle additional tasks assigned
Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial and accounting operations.- Preferred: Work experience as an Accounting Manager or Finance Manager for 2 or more years.
Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting principles, standards, and regulations (PAS, BIR, etc.).
- Proficient in accounting software and databases
Excellent data management and analysis skills using MS Office Suite- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Familiarity with internet browsers (e.g., Google Chrome, Internet Explorer).
- Ability to utilize file management tools (Google Drive).
Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom).
