Objective:The WESM Trader is responsible for the electricity trading transactions in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in compliance with implementing rules and regulations, guidelines and protocol issued by WESM, NGCP, DOE, TRANSCO, ERC and other government agencies.
- Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordination with System Operator, Market Operator, and plant operation personnel on day-to-day operations.
- Submitting price and volume nominations to WESM and monitoring WESM outcomes.
Preparation and submission of accurate BCQs to the WESM.- Ensure every market transaction made complies with the WESM rules.
Submission of reportorial requirements pertaining to WESM Compliance.
- Analyzing the existing plants operating in the system to determine the adequacy of supply in the system and to monitor competing generation facilities.
Compiling power industry database from various sources.
BS in Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Economics, Business courses, Mathematics and applied Sciences or equivalent.- At least 1 year of relevant experience in the electric power industry and/or electricity trading. With preference to candidates with a working knowledge and understanding of WESM, EPIRA, Grid Code, and RCOA.
A high degree of skills in analyzing competitive market behavior for purposes of offering in the market.
- Computer literate with a high degree of numerical proficiency.
Good communication and writing skills.- Can work on shifting schedule
