Position Overview:
The warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse including receiving, storing, and distributing products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all warehouse activities. The supervisor will manage a team of warehouse workers, ensuring their adherence to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing products.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse operational procedures to maximize productivity and minimize errors.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular inventory checks.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring their compliance with safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to effectively manage inventory levels and resolve any inventory discrepancies.
- Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate measures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of warehouse staff, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
- Ensure proper maintenance and organization of the warehouse, including the arrangement of products and equipment.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to ensure timely delivery and receipt of products.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
- Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar role, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management and order fulfillment processes.
- Proficient in using warehouse management software and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with warehouse staff and other departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to warehouse operations.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time.
