The Warehouse and Logistics Manager leads the logistics and warehousing operations within the semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role is key to ensuring efficient movement and storage of materials, accurate inventory management, and timely delivery to production lines. The person excels in logistics strategy, warehouse management, and team leadership, ensuring high standards of productivity, safety, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the warehouse, overseeing the receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure optimal layout and organization of warehouse space to maximize efficiency and streamline workflow.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain high performance in all warehouse activities.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory management systems to achieve high inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Conduct regular audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories to ensure consistency between physical and system inventory levels.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to align inventory levels with production demand and minimize stockouts.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Develop partnerships with carriers and freight providers to ensure reliable service, negotiate rates, and optimize shipping costs.
- Track and monitor logistics performance metrics to improve transit times, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse and logistics staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set and review team goals, provide performance feedback, and ensure employees have necessary resources and training.
- Promote and enforce a safe and compliant work environment, regularly conducting safety drills and adhering to industry regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, such as lean warehousing, to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Lead initiatives for 6S, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction within warehouse and logistics processes.
- Use data analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and report on key performance indicators.
- Ensure all warehouse and logistics activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment, with regular safety checks and employee training.
- Manage hazardous materials handling and ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse and logistics management, preferably within the PEZA semiconductor or electronics manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, logistics processes, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and knowledge of best practices in supply chain management.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team building, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with lean manufacturing, 6S, and other process improvement tools.
