Job Description
The Benefits Data Source (BDS) team works with WTW consultants to design and deliver benefits benchmarking solutions to clients around the world.

As a Valuation Analyst within BDS, you will contribute to the benchmarking efforts and overall building and maintenance of our global benefits database. You will have the opportunity to:
- Develop technical knowledge of benefits plans around the world;
- Develop skills to help deliver benchmarking reports to global clients;
- Work with a team of benefits experts across multiple countries;
- Develop data, process and project management skills.
Key Activities Include
- Valuation of key employee benefits to help build/maintain country databases to be used for benchmarking projects.
- Assist with preparation of benchmarking reports as a final client deliverable or as part of larger projects with other WTW businesses.
- Help develop and maintain valuation models.
- Review client submissions, interpret plan documents, and work with the Data Management team to ensure completeness and accuracy of data in the BDS database.
- Learn and understand the benefits landscape of assigned countries by contributing to the content-building and maintenance of the BDS Knowledge Base.
- Manage and maintain the quality of survey questionnaires by reviewing content and ensuring the survey is aligned with the current country benefits provisions, logging questionnaire changes on a timely manner, and coordinating with the Data Management team and local country champions on necessary updates.
- Effective use of the various tools and platforms used in the collection, processing, valuation, and reporting of data.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the team daily to ensure quality and timeliness of work though sharing of ideas and best practices.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a program with emphasis on mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, business or related fields.
- At least 1 year experience in actuarial science, valuation or quantitative analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint); experience in databases would be an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, keen attention to details, and commitment to excellence.
- Well-organized and has strong time management skills; able to work within tight deadlines and balance time across multiple, simultaneous projects that may involve different procedures and project team members.
- Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate.
- Ability to apply newly acquired knowledge to future assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams, display initiative in self-development.
- Proactive collaboration with a global team, including taking accountability for quality and on-time delivery of own work and involving other team members when appropriate.
- Previous benefits or insurance experience a plus.
