DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process payroll for multiple clients accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare and issue paychecks to client employees.
- Calculate and pay all required withholding taxes.
- File quarterly returns with relevant federal, state, and local agencies.
- Manage and pay unemployment taxes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of payroll transactions.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to client inquiries promptly.
- Perform minimal general bookkeeping tasks including data entry, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements for clients.
- Stay current with changes in payroll laws and bookkeeping best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be highly proficient in Quickbooks Desktop. Certification preferred.
- At least 2 - 5 years of proven experience in providing US payroll services, including paycheck. processing, withholding tax payments, filing returns, and managing unemployment tax.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and regulations.
- Competency in basic bookkeeping.
- Must be willing to grow within the company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and high quality work.
