About the Rol
e:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the finance team in maintaining compliance with accounting regulations. This role will involve handling complex accounting tasks, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll do:
Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
- Invoicing and management of accounts receivable
- Daily cash transaction coding
- Maintaining and analyzing accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and take action to minimize aging balances
Accounts Payable
- Receive, process, verify and reconcile invoices
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
Accounting Procedures and Compliance
- Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain account reconciliations
- Allocate costs across business divisions using appropriate methodologies
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Other Business Support Responsibilities
- Maintain travel and entertainment expense system (Concur) and monthly processing/reconciliation
- Provide backup support for the Accounting Manager, Finance Director, Business Analyst and Contracting as needed
- Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources
- Continuous support of budget and forecast activities
Job requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
- Strong understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles ( US GAAP)
- Experience in accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes and analysis.
- Advanced G/L experience
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Detail oriented and must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Initiative-taker who can multi-task and take ownership
- Strong organization and attention to detail
