Job Description:
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Virtual Accountant to join our team. As a Virtual Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your expertise in accounting principles, attention to detail, and ability to work independently will contribute to the financial health and success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and expense tracking, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of entries
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses, providing insights and recommendations to management
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation in accounting software or ERP systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing input and analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, clarify financial transactions, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and liaising with external tax advisors or auditors as needed
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements and guidelines
- Provide support and assistance to the finance team and other departments as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. CPA certification or equivalent qualification is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite, as well as Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial information, analyze trends, and identify insights
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- High-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace conducive to remote work and virtual collaboration
- Availability to work during US business hours, with flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings, deadlines, or financial reporting requirements outside of standard hours
