We are urgently looking for a Purchasing Officer!As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing of construction materials, equipment, and services essential to our projects. Your role will ensure timely procurement, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our operations.
- Procurement Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgetary requirements.- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous pricing and favorable terms.
- Purchase Order Management:
Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project requirements and company policies.
- Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering partnerships based on trust and mutual benefit.- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Inventory Control and Management:
Coordinate with warehouse and site personnel to manage inventory levels and ensure availability of materials as per project schedules.- Implement inventory management practices to minimize surplus and optimize storage space.
- Cost Management and Budgeting:
Monitor procurement expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or delivery schedules.- Prepare budget forecasts and reports on procurement activities for management review.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role in the construction or related industry.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP software).
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.- Knowledge of construction materials and industry regulations is preferred.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.- Problem-solving orientation with a proactive approach to challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
