Job Description

Responsible for: This role will be working closely with the developer team and Business Analysts to review and redesign MicroSourcing's in-house custom-built ERP-MicroStatus and other existing core products with the best User Journey possible, and to make recommendations on how the UI/UX can be enhanced throughout. This role will be consulted on any new features that are required in the system and execute product UI/UX strategy and changes.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

UI/UX review and redesign of MicroStatus and other Microsourcing products and technologies:
  • Review and redesign of systems and features supported by Microsourcing and the Software Development team resulting in the best User Journey possible.
  • Make recommendations on how the UI/UX can be enhanced for supported Business applications, automation technologies and services
  • Design New Features in collaboration with Product Owners and Business Analysts

Product design and application builds:
  • Provide UX best practice strategy
  • Develop User-Centered-Design(UCD) and customer journeys
  • Create and maintain Style Guides and Component Library for products
  • Create prototypes, wireframes, and UI mock-ups in collaboration with development teams that clearly illustrate how sites/apps function and look like
  • Maintain brand consistency
  • Follow prescribed SDLC & DevOps processes as well as comply with security best practices & policies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Provide 2nd level escalation for production support issues and customer concerns.

Technical Skills improvement & Mentorship:
  • Recommend, design and develop training courses to improve developer team's UI/UX understanding and design competency.
  • Spread UX awareness throughout the organization by partnering with other departments or reaching out to those in need of UI/UX audit for their products/services.
  • Evaluate new technologies and trends.

Other:
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as may be requested from time to time by the Software Development Lead.

KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Experience using wireframe, prototyping, and creative design software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Canva, Illustrator, or Miro.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git, and the GitLab platform.
  • Familiarity with web technologies and frontend frameworks, e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS and Web design libraries (e.g. Bootstrap, Material UI, TailwindUI) is an advantage.
  • Creativity and attention to detail - producing excellent visual designs taking color theory, layout, and typography into account while also considering user system comprehension and interaction
  • Web and Mobile Design - taking design responsiveness, and technology requirements and limitations into consideration
  • Excellent communication - able to write, design and explain requirements well, and being confident to raise a challenge with the team
  • Customer needs identification - able to communicate effectively with Business Analysts, developer teams, and customers to effectively determine End User needs, and able to design a viable solution with User-Centered-Design(UCD) best practice in mind
  • Scope definition understanding - able to produce designs with MVP scope and Customer budget constraints being taken into consideration
  • Analysis and Problem Solving - able to use data and feedback to conduct analysis and determine a solution to solve problems Development Team, Delivery Team, and Customers are facing
  • Product improvements - able to view and test an existing product, make recommendations for improvements to Customer journeys, and design
  • Building prototypes - create web app wireframes, and mock-ups for the Development Team
  • Passion for streamlining processes - always looking for continuous improvement opportunities in the Design and Delivery processes
QUALIFICATIONS AND TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Bacheloru0027s degree in any field is a plus
  • Experience working in Agile delivery methods and delivery teams
  • 5 plus years experience within similar role
  • Experience working directly with clients
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Subject to business demands, additional hours may be required
  • May be required to travel and work across various sites
