As a Trust Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing trust accounts, reconciling financial records, and providing accurate and timely financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day operations of trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide financial updates.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure compliance with trust accounting standards and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the trust accounting function and contribute to their implementation.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits related to trust accounts, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Trust Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Strong knowledge of trust accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (XERO, MYOB and/or Quickbooks) and PropertyMe.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
