Job Description:The Trailer Truck Welder/Fabricator position encompasses Production Welding, Fabrication and Quality responsibilities. Duties include analyzing blueprints, welding jobs, maintaining production standards and producing consistently accurate work especially in repairing Trailer truck chassis.
- Responsibilities and Duties:
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate and assemble truck components, including frames, bodies, cabs, and accessories.
- Measure and cut metal materials using cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other cutting equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision.
Weld metal components together using various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to create strong and durable joints.- Perform grinding, sanding, and finishing operations to smooth welds and remove sharp edges, ensuring a clean and professional appearance.
Align and fit metal components using jigs, fixtures, and alignment tools, ensuring proper fitment and alignment according to specifications.
- Inspect fabricated components for defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies, and perform corrective actions or rework as needed to meet quality standards.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, propose design modifications, and optimize fabrication processes.- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and materials, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects, and report any issues or concerns to supervisors or project managers.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments as needed.
Familiarity with metalworking tools and equipment, such as grinders, saws, drills, and hydraulic presses.- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certificate of Employment of previous company if possible.
