Qualification:- Educational Attainment: 4 to 5 years college graduate
- Required Experience: With experience in investigation works and knowledgeable in incident response
- Other Skills Required: Driving Skills and with drivers license; MS Office
- TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR
Responds to traffic related accidents in the expressway, secures the accident scene to prevent secondary accident and conducts investigation.
Prepares and submits the necessary reports for the traffic accident attended. (Ex. Traffic Incident Report, Sketch, Amicable Settlement Form and other related reports.)
Turnover major traffic accidents to the concerned PNP.
- PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1.1 Responds to traffic related accidents in the expressway and investigates non-injury, injury and/or fatal including those that resulted in damage to company property;
- 1.2 Determines the cause of the accident, effect in the operations, corrective measures to mitigate the effect in operations and mitigating measures to prevent recurrence;
- 1.3 Gathers and analyzes all pertinent information relating to traffic accidents including information obtained from witnesses;
- 1.4 Reconstructs accidents using physical evidences;
- 1.5 Prepares comprehensive and accurate reports regarding the traffic;
- 1.6 Compiles statistical information on each accident; provides reports to the Traffic Office Assistant;
- 1.7 Turn-overs traffic accidents to appropriate authorities and conducts follow-ups (if necessary);
- 1.8 Recommends the filing of civil and criminal charges based on the facts gathered in the investigation;
- 1.9 Operates portable radio, measuring devices, calculator, camera, tape recorder and other equipment as needed;
- 1.10 Testifies in the court as required.
- Detailed Tasks
- 2.1 Respond to the accident site and requests for the needed response based on the nature of the accident such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Roadside Towing Services (ERTS), Incident Response Team (IRT), PNP, BFP, and others)
- 2.2 Interviews involved drivers and witnesses at the traffic accident scene and takes note each information obtained;
- 2.3 Examines each involved vehicle in the accident scene to determine vehicle damage(s) including damage to company properties;
- 2.4 Records and takes picture of damaged roadway furniture or equipment as a result from the self -accident or from the collision;
- 2.5 Checks the accident scene for any marking or object that will serve as reference and which will assist in determining the cause of the accident or identify the vehicle or drivers at fault;
- 2.6 When needed, obtain measurements by use tape measures or other measuring devices, and will include position of vehicles on roadway, position of bodies, location and length of skid marks, width and lane divisions on roadway, signs of maximum engagement, roadway defects and gouges, locations of obstructions and any other pertinent evidence found;
- 2.7 Takes photographs when needed;
- 2.8 Ensures that drivers exchange required information.
- 2.9 Submits Major Incident Reports to the Department Head, Assistant Managers & Traffic Supervisors for review.
- Other Expectations of the job
- 3.1 Required to operate appropriately and with care all assigned tools and equipment in the performance of duty;
- 3.2 Required to properly manage all facilities, materials, supplies, stocks and inventories under his/her supervision;
- 3.3 Required to maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment of the assigned workstation.
