Traffic Control Room Specialist

Qualification:

• Educational Attainment: 4 to 5 years college graduate

• Required Experience: Knowledgeable in the operations of control base

• Other Skills Required: MS Office, good communication skills

• TCR SPECIALIST

Monitors the expressway using CCTV systems and coordinates needed response to Patrol Crews and/ or traffic incident response teams using available communication systems.

Records all traffic incidents to the Centralized Traffic Management System

Directly reports to the duty TCR Supervisor.

• PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• TCR Specialist

• 1.1.1 Monitors and manages traffic in the expressway. Expressway includes the main carriageway, entries and exits of the expressway.
  

• 1.1.2 Operates the CCTV Systems, digital radio communication system and the incidents recording system for traffic operations;
  

• 1.1.3 Monitors the condition of the expressway 24x 7;
  

• 1.1.4 Ensures that the expressway is free from traffic hazards to allow safe and smooth flow of traffic;
  

• 1.1.5 Provides real time traffic information to motorists using VMS, ODS, and/or social media;
  

• 1.1.6 Ensures on-time mobilization of the Emergency Response Team (Emergency Medical Service, Emergency Roadside Towing Services, PNP, BFP and/or LGUs) to the accident area;
  

• 1.1.7 Ensures on-time mobilization of Patrol Officer to assist a distressed motorist;
  
  
• DETAILS OF THE TASKS

• 1.2.1 Monitors and logs all traffic incidents and special events along the expressway in the traffic incident recording system;
  

• 1.2.2 Gathers and uses information provided by Patrol Officers including calls from concerned motorists to identify problem areas and faults and initiate actions to rectify these problems and broadcast this information via the established channels of communication;
  

• 1.2.3 Implements the appropriate traffic management plans to reduce the effect of incidents to the mototring public and to the responding personnel;
  

• 1.2.4 Functions as Alternate Emergency Coordinator in the absence of Emergency Coordinator (Traffic Supervisor).
  

• 1.2.5 Provides real time information and updates on road conditions to senior management;
  

• 1.2.6 Provides traffic updates to media if needed;
  

• 1.2.7 Participates in ongoing training requirements and simulation exercises to ensure competencies, skills as well as knowledge of procedures are regularly updated and demonstrable (example: drills);
  

• 1.2.8 Provides exceptional customer service as the Calaex & C5 representative to the motorists and general public; and
  

• 1.2.9 Other duties as required.
  
• Other Expectations of the job

• 1.3.1 May be required to stay beyond shift hours until a qualified Traffic Control Room Specialist becomes available;
  

• 1.3.2 Required to care for and properly manage all materials, supplies, stocks and inventories under his/her supervision;
  

• 1.3.3 Required to maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment of the assigned workstation.
