Job Summary: The IT technical writer's role is to document and translate complex technical knowledge into narratives and documentation that can be easily understood by different audiences including end users, developers, and IT professionals. This role involves working closely with software developers, engineers, project managers and different IT professionals to gather and verify information, and then craft it into comprehensive documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of IT concepts and terminology, as well as excellent writing, research, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting or reviewing policies, standard operating procedures and work instructions of different IT processes/areas including but is not limited to:
IT operations including Network, Service, Incident, Problem and Change Management Portfolio and Project Management
Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and usability of documentation through research, verification, and quality assurance processes- Adhering to style guides and documentation standards to maintain consistency and clarity across all materials
Creating and maintaining documentation for in-house software, including user guides, installation manuals, release notes, and API documentation.
- Updating documentation to reflect changes in software functionality and features.
Other related areas as needed for the role
Qualifications:- At least 3 years of working experience as effective IT technical writer
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or related field
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
Superb written communication and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail- Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous work experience in different IT processes
Previous work experience in documenting process flow charts- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business landscapes.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Skills:- Trainings and/or certificates related to the following are preferred (COBIT, ITIL, PMBOK)
Familiarity with emerging technologies and their application in business processes
- Strong Leadership and team-building skills to inspire and motivate teams.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to rapidly changing business environments.
Must be amenable to work onsite in Makati at least 3x a week.
