Primarily responsible for the accurate and timely submission of tax returns, development and implementation of tax strategies/policies and keeping management and colleagues abreast on new developments in tax legislation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures accurate and timely submission of tax returns
- Develop and implement tax strategies
- Monitor tax legislation and regulatory tax law development
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of tax returns
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning
- Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the tax returns and other tax documents
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
- Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
- Assist in preparation of consolidated reports
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, finance, business or related field,
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Extensive knowledge of tax legislation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Sound problem-solving skills
