Job Description

Job Title: Associate Tax Accountant (AU)

Job Overview:

The Associate Tax Accountant is responsible for preparation of Activity Statements (BAS, IAS) and Tax Returns for Individual and Legal Entities.

Work Schedule:

  • 7:00AM-4:00PM | Monday to Friday

Work Specific Setup:

  • Hybrid (Work on site for first two weeks and 2x/ 3 a week thereafter)

What you'll be doing:

  • Review and close year-end accounts to comply with specific ATO laws
  • Prepare detailed workpapers, schedules and reconciliations of accounting records
  • Prepare tax returns for individual, company, trust, and partnership using Xero Practice Manager Tax/ MYOB AE Tax or similar software.
  • Review and prepare monthly and/ or quarterly Activity Statements (BAS/IAS)
  • Maintain book of accounts through bank reconciliation, AP processing, AR processing, and prepare management reports
  • Communicate with various stakeholders including but not limited to team members, client managers on job status, queries, request for information and others
  • Drive work efficiency through process improvements.
  • Bring and maintain the ATO tax legislation knowledge
  • Other ad-hoc related work

  • CPA with at least 1-2+ years of Audit experience from reputable auditing firms
  • High attention to details and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take lead in understanding and meeting client's business goals
