A strong collaborator, proactive and detail-oriented individual who will handle tax activities for the Philippines. The role reports to the Tax Manager. The Tax Associate's main responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring tax records, performing regular internal tax audits, reconciling withholding taxes, submitting and monitoring tax reports, processing local business taxes and real property taxes, assisting with local and/or national tax audits, co-leading inventory destruction activities, and spearheading tax education campaign.
This role is expected to strongly collaborate with and lead/co-lead projects with the Finance Shared Services (FSSC) Team, Accounts Payable (AP) Team, Accounts Receivable (AR) Team, Record-to-Report (RtR) Team, Import/Export (ImPex) Team, and Procurement Team to ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
- Submit, maintain and monitor tax records
Prepare, submit, and reconcile monthly Summary List of Importations (SLI)- Perform regular internal tax audits/tax health checks (_e.g., _invoicing regulations, inventory destruction)
Reconcile taxes with accounting records, tax reports, and documents (_e.g., _EWT certificates)
- Process local business permits and real property taxes
Assist with local and/or national tax audits (_e.g., _production and review of documents)- Co-lead inventory destruction activities
Strengthen tax awareness of different business units and provided regular tax updates affecting the business and the employees
- Implement changes on relevant tax regulations to ensure compliance
Coordination with suppliers and customers- Other tasks that may be assigned to the role related to tax and accounting activities
