Working within our IT team, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and upkeeping enterprise Windows systems, cloud presence, and communication technologies. You will play a crucial role in various projects, providing technical expertise and strategy in areas such as identity management, Windows Servers, VMware infrastructure, shared storage, email, and cloud-hosted environments. A focus on delivering value in these areas with an absolute commitment to secure operations is mandatory.
The Systems Engineer reports to the Manager of Systems & Endpoint Engineering.
You'll Have The Opportunity To Be Involved With
- Conducting Tier 3 technical product research to foster ongoing innovation within the infrastructure team, keeping up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends.
- Architect and test disaster recovery plans, leveraging cloud and external hosted platforms to ensure efficient business continuity.
- Engaging deeply in client and server security evaluation, operations, and related technologies to maintain a secure infrastructure.
- Designing and modifying architecture for highly available, business-critical projects, adapting to evolving business needs.
- Demonstrating thorough knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and DFS, and author complex PowerShell scripts to streamline IT operations and identify automation opportunities.
- Maintaining server and infrastructure performance through continuous monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting, escalating issues to peers, vendors, or business partners as necessary.
- Providing excellent customer service, taking personal ownership of issues, and ensuring thorough resolutions. Acting as a lead and mentor within the IT team, participating in rotating on-call duties and adhering to schedules and deadlines.
Do you have what it takes to be a Pendragon Associate We're looking for someone who has
- 7-10+ years of experience in IT, specifically related to Active Directory, infrastructure, servers, storage, and virtualisation.
- Bachelor of Science in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience, with preferred knowledge of Microsoft and/or VMware certifications.
- Strong critical thinking and the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency in addressing and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to set priorities and handle a variety of complex and broad work assignments.
- Proficient in MS Office and Visio for documentation, reporting, and project planning purposes.
- Experience working in large, geographically dispersed enterprise organisations, with the capability to perform effectively in such settings.
