JOB SUMMARY:This key position is responsible for maintaining the computerized systems and their information technology hardware components within the organization. These activities include, but are not limited to, building of servers, administration o user access to the servers, configuration of Network Services used by the company (i.e. Email, File Server, DNS, HTTP, FTP, proxy ...). This person is responsible for addressing issues raised with regards to the services that the individual is responsible for. This person is also responsible for developing tools and processes to monitor and mitigate potential issues before they become such.
- DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides hardware/software modifications, developments, or updates to designated
system, basic network system modifications or updates to ensure meeting the required
specifications and enhance network operations.
- Provides UNIX/ Linux/ Microsoft programming/ scripting to correct and modify user's
environment.
- Responds to system failures to bring system back to functioning levels of operation.
- Troubleshoots basic and routine computer, network, or server problems and serves as
escalation point/assistant in troubleshooting for/of unresolved issue/s in non-production
and production environment to deliver the necessary resolution of repairing failed
equipment, network, and server.
- Writes or maintains user documentation/manuals for basic and routine software
applications.
- Assists with designated computer security systems/password/file protection protocol to
ensure compliance with the company's password policy.
- Works as directed with InfoSec personnel regarding security problems concerning ISO
to support compliance and standardization efforts of the company.
- Assesses computing needs and provides information to aid in identifying potential use of
available computing resources.
- Sets up operational procedures for users for guidance and standardization.
- Serves as technical resource within the organization to address technical concerns
within his/her purview.
- Maintains a broad knowledge of operating systems, scripting languages and hardware tmeet ever-changing needs of the organization.
- Monitors system logs and activities on all servers and devices to ensure proper
documentation.
- Coordinates with developments team to schedule releases of software updates.
- Deploys software on staging and production environments in compliance with Software
Change Management controls to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conducts necessary computer training to users and colleagues for knowledge transfer
and sustainability of efforts.
- JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Preferably a graduate of Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering and other related courses.- At least 3 year's of relevant and related technical experience in delivering systems administration functions or as Systems Administration
Preferably attended IT related topic seminars and lectures
