Octal Philippines Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced SYSTEM INTEGRATOR to join our dynamic team. As a SYSTEM INTEGRATOR, you will be responsible for integrating various hardware and software components to create cohesive systems. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure firewalls and/or load balancers
- Install and configure applications in UNIX or Linux environment
- Install and configure third party middleware software, if necessary
- Perform basic, integration, alarm, and relevant testing to ensure compliance of the system to client requirements
- Conduct research and investigation on related systems/products
- Create test specifications when needed
- Create operations manuals, if required
- Review plans and designs to identify weak spots and complexities that may affect quality and reliability
- Prepare comprehensive reports on required modifications, deficiencies, and new procedures
- Assist clients in understanding new services and operations management functions
- Travel on-site for pre-sales activities and project implementation when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in system integration, preferably in an IT solutions company
- Proficiency in Unix or Linux scripting
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Familiarity with SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and/or SMTP
- Experience in network design and configuration of switches and routers
- Knowledge of firewalls and load balancers is a plus
- Understanding of virtualization and networking technologies
- Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper devices is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Fortinet or similar firewall platforms is an advantage
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus
- Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is advantageous
- Knowledge of automation tools, such as Ansible, is a plus
- Certifications in CISCO, Juniper, or AWS/Azure are preferred
- Background or knowledge of Nihongo is an advantage
- Willingness to travel to Japan and/or other countries
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
