What you will do
- Coordinate surgery appointments for patients, including pre-operative and post-operative scheduling
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff to confirm surgery times and necessary preparations
- Manage patient communication, providing them with all necessary details and instructions
- Verify insurance and handle pre-authorization processes
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient information
- Prepare and send surgical packets to patients
- Answer patient inquiries and assist with rescheduling as needed
- Maintain organized records and update systems with surgery schedules
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a medical administrative or surgical scheduling role
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and scheduling software
