JOB SUMMARY:The Supervisor - Stock Management oversees and coordinates stock management activities in a warehouse or distribution center. They are responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels, efficient stock movement, and proper storage practices. The supervisor leads a team of warehouse associates, provides guidance and support, and collaborates with other departments to optimize stock management processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, inventory management expertise, and a focus on operational efficiency.
- Inventory Control: Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to maintain accurate stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment activities to prevent stockouts and meet customer demands. Collaborate with purchasing departments to ensure timely and accurate replenishment.
- Stock Allocation and Storage: Develop and implement effective stock allocation and storage strategies to optimize space utilization and ensure efficient stock movement. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and proper storage conditions for different types of products.
- Stock Accuracy and Auditing: Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Team Supervision and Training: Lead, supervise, and train warehouse associates in stock management procedures following FEFO/FIFO, proper handling of products, and safe operating practices. Set performance goals, provide feedback, and address performance issues as needed.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate stock-related reports, analyze data, and provide insights to management regarding stock levels, trends, and operational efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize stock management processes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to ensure effective communication and collaboration in stock management activities. Provide support and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding stock availability and status.
- Technology and Systems Utilization: Utilize inventory management systems, warehouse management software, and other relevant technologies to streamline stock management processes, enhance visibility, and improve accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate stock management processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards in stock management operations. Promote a culture of safety and enforce safe working practices among warehouse associates.
