We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician for our Substation and Maintenance and Repair team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable maintenance of our electric power substation equipment and systems. Your expertise in electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and substation maintenance/repair will be vital in guaranteeing the uninterrupted supply of electricity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on electrical substation equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, relays, and associated control systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues within the substation to minimize downtime and restore power quickly in case of outages or equipment failures.- Conduct testing, inspections, and performance evaluations to assess the condition of substation equipment and identify areas for improvement.
Oversee and participate in equipment repairs, replacements, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers and substation personnel to coordinate maintenance activities, schedule outages, and develop maintenance plans.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs, and update maintenance logs and documentation.- Assist in the training and mentorship of new technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices in substation maintenance.
Stay informed about industry trends, safety protocols, and regulatory changes, and apply this knowledge to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Technical vocational course or at least two years of college in technical/ engineering field
with a valid Registered Master Electrician/ Registered Plant Mechanic certification, or TESDA NC II Certification in an electrical field- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an electric power substation environment.
Extensive knowledge of substation equipment, electrical systems, and high-voltage components.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in the electric power industry. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and during emergency call-outs.
