Responsibilities:
- Oversees a team of reporters, providing guidance, feedback and support to develop their stories
- Assigns and edits political and business news stories, ensures that stories grammatically and factually correct
- Works with other editors and reporters on news stories and special reports
- Keeps up to date with current events
- Upholds the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and integrity
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in news editing, preferably in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Strong editorial judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A passion for journalism
