Description
We're looking for a team leader; an experienced
Creative Services Studio Manager to help us evolve and lead a high-performing team of designers and project managers, and oversee the team's development of branded materials globally. This critical role will require your proven expertise leading creative services teams for large organizations. You will work closely with colleagues across the company to build relationships, understand needs, solve challenges, and ultimately be responsible for a team that is designing the way our brand is experienced across the globe. Your strong collaboration skills, proactive communication, and the desire to constantly improve the quality and effectiveness of our design work will be vital to the success of this role.
Your role will also be responsible of the following;
- You'll be the operational and people leader of the studio, responsible for the success of the team and the work it creates
- You'll work with marketing leadership to understand business and marketing strategies and needs, their design ramifications and ensure the studio is ready to meet those needs
- You'll be a people manager; assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and evaluating performance to help build a positive culture and a high-performing team
- You'll maintain the day-to-day operations of the studio, thinking and working ahead to ensure the studio is always ready to deliver exceptional work
- You'll work closely with internal clients, often handling escalated and sensitive issues when they arise, and finding creative and practical solutions that build trust and help achieve project and organizational goals
- You'll leverage studio systems and tools to track and report data, and ensure our operations are running smoothly, and identifying ways we can further improve
- You manage the amount, projections, and prioritization of work, ensuring we have adequate capacity through the right mix of our team, contractors, and external partners
- You'll ensure the team is maintaining quality control processes that meet our high standards, and provide feedback and remediation where necessary
- You'll set up and maintain partnerships with other creative agencies and organizations as needed to extend the effectiveness and readiness of the studio
Qualifications
The Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree, certificate, or equivalent practical experience in marketing, design, or a related field
- 5-10 or more years at a design, creative or similar company, or within a corporate design team including 3-5 years of experience managing creative teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity of design software including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma. A working knowledge of Workfront is a plus
- Broad knowledge of print, digital, event, and other design processes and workflows, and you stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends, technologies, and best-practices.
- A strong command of the English language
- A focus on continuous improvement to build a high-performing team
- A good understanding of the bigger picture, helping to spot, diagnose, and solve challenges that impact the team's performance
- A proven track record of building and managing design teams for success, and creating a culture that facilitates great work including diverse viewpoints, accountability, and constructive feedback
- An ability to build relationships, to understand and navigate competing needs and goals, and to use engagements and experiences as opportunities for growth and learning of others
