Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural designs and detailed calculations for various types of structures.

  • Analyze building materials for structural soundness and suitability.

  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software to create and modify designs.

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate design and construction efforts.

  • Prepare and review project plans, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Monitor and inspect construction sites to ensure work is performed according to specifications and codes.

  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

  • Conduct structural inspections and provide recommendations for repairs or modifications.

  • Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with structural components and construction processes.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the building process.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and provide progress updates.

  • Present design concepts and project plans to clients and stakeholders.

  • Address client concerns and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

  • Proven experience as a Structural Engineer, with a portfolio of completed projects.

  • Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, and others.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
