Job Description For Food And Beverage Steward
A Food and Beverage Steward is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in a restaurant or hotel. The job requires a combination of physical labor and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient food service operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and glasses, ensuring that they meet health and safety standards.
- Set up and maintain the dining area, including tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
- Assist with food service, including serving meals, clearing tables, and replenishing supplies.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking and ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records of usage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage.
- Handle and dispose of food waste and garbage according to established procedures.
- Collaborate with other kitchen and dining staff to ensure a smooth and efficient food service operation.
- Attend training sessions to learn new skills and improve existing ones.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and policies.
Qualifications
- Min HSSC pass, diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in food service or hospitality may be preferred.
- Min experience of 1 -3 years in F & B Service
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, including hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Strong physical stamina, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
