We are looking for a full-time Staff Accountant who is enthusiastic about reconciliations. This role demands a fast-paced environment and keen attention to detail. The perfect candidate will excel in organizing data with spreadsheets.
This role will work from home permanently, Full-time, during U.S. business hours, specifically Central Time.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets, to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile accounts payable balance, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts by gathering relevant data, analyzing trends, and identifying key drivers of financial performance
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews to identify areas of improvement and support decision-making processes. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for management as required
- Tax Compliance: Assist in tax planning and compliance activities, including state business registrations, preparing and filing sales tax returns, property tax filings, and other regulatory reports
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide support in preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and resolving audit findings
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and streamline accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must haves
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the telecommunications industry
- Proficiency in QBO and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of telecommunications industry regulations and accounting standards
- Experience with state business and tax registration
- Proficiency in implementing various systems, encompassing accounting and tax software
- Knowledge of QBO, Intacct, and CCH SureTax platforms
