Summary Description:
Manager/Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis is expected to develop and implement robust procedures that create accurate, timely, and relevant financial statements, metrics, forecasts, plans, and business case analyses. The ability to collaborate across all functional areas of the business constructively and efficiently within a fast-paced environment is critical. This position must regularly manage communications with various global stakeholders, including executive management.
The Manager/Senior Manager leads an FP&A team of 8 and is also responsible for providing FP&A support to the operating companies supported by DBS. This position has significant interaction with leadership and therefore requires excellent communication skills and strong executive presence.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide financial and strategic support to CFO including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group benchmark comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition impact analysis and other projects requested by senior management
Organize and document work instructions for monthly and quarterly review package to CFO including budget to actual analytics, investments & overheads review, key financial metrics, and performance indicators
Implement continuous improvements to reduce finance business process cycle times, improve financial forecast quality, enable team members to spend more time on higher value tasks and enhance information provided to leadership for business decisions
Develop new reporting or analyses as needed to provide timely insightful information to executive leadership for better decision-making
Assist in designing, proposing, and implementing new allocation methodologies for DBS cost of service delivery to increase transparency of calculations and reduce the inherent complexity associated with a volumes-based charging model
Evaluate strategies and goals of DBS and recommend actions to reduce gross spend and/or better leverage existing systems
Detail-review underlying workpapers for completeness and accuracy of financial information
Detail-review DBS balance sheet reconciliations to assess appropriateness of aged items
Support extensive information requests and ad-hoc projects from the DBS CFO, VP DBS, Dover Corporate, operating company CFOs, and other key stakeholders
Provide financial partnership to other DBS functions requiring finance support (e.g. HR)
Assist in reviewing contractual fee structures to propose cost reduction actions (e.g. clean up customer records to reduce fees with supplier)
Partner with operating companies to validate DBS savings delivery (e.g. exit operating company level contracts if moving to consolidated DBS contracts)
Drive reduction in high-cost labor hours between DBS and the operating companies through simplification and automation efforts that allow more focus on value-add business activities for the company
Redesign and automate repeatable processes to accelerate financial discipline and benefits
Lead a team of 8 FP&A professionals, providing coaching and technical support as well as thought leadership for DBS FP&A
Work proactively with operating companies to expand the FP&A support services offered by DBS
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field preferred
12+ years relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably at a large multi-national organization
Energetic, self-starter and strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong project management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing and improving environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple teams/workstreams, including offshore resources
Able to develop outstanding business relationships and provide functional leadership
Disciplined work ethic, detail oriented and well organized
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience managing data in large ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and large consolidation systems (OneStream preferred)
