Job Description

Position Overview:

A Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to cognitive, emotional, physical, or developmental disabilities. The role involves creating individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting teaching methods, and collaborating with other professionals to support students academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):

    - Assess students abilities, strengths, and needs through various evaluation methods.

    - Collaborate with parents, school administrators, and other professionals to develop personalized education plans.

    - Set measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's requirements and abilities.






  • Implement Specialized Instruction:

    - Design and deliver instructional activities and materials that accommodate students diverse learning styles and needs.

    - Modify curriculum content, teaching techniques, and classroom environments to facilitate learning for students with disabilities (mostly ASD).

    - Utilize assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and other resources to enhance students access to the curriculum.



  • Provide Support and Intervention:

    - Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

    - Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.



  • Collaborate with Stakeholders:

    - Work closely with general education teachers to ensure the inclusion of students with disabilities in mainstream classrooms.

    - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, address concerns, and provide guidance on supporting learning at home.

    - Monitor the child's progress through Speech/Occupational Therapist's notes and reports.



  • Professional Development and Compliance:

    - Stay informed about best practices, research findings, and legal requirements related to special education.

    - Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports required for compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Qualifications:



    - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.

    - On-the-job training certification or licensure in Special Education.

    - Strong understanding of various disabilities and their impact on learning.

    - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

    - Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

    - Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with disabilities.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From Php13,000.00 per month

    Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
