This role is responsible for the ongoing production support, operations, proactive maintenance, and enhancements of Albertsons Loyalty applications in accordance with the prescribed Service Level Agreement and with a focus on meeting customer expectations. The Specialist Software Engineer is expected to develop an in-depth knowledge in supported applications and will act as SME who will provide guidance and direction to senior, intermediate and junior engineers.

- Bachelors Degree is required. Majors preferred are Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.

- Creative thinker in terms of diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, identifying and developing methods to automate/improve new/existing procedures.
- Investigate and resolve high complexity issues and work with SRE, developers, vendors, project teams and other support groups.
- Perform root cause analysis on complex issues and recommend fix or solution.
- Ensure that production systems are up and running through alerts and monitoring.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills can comfortably communicate with our onshore and offshore stakeholders.
- Willing to work on production support.
- Willing to work on a 247 shift assignment (including weekends, holidays) and be assigned as on-call resource as needed.
- Strong analytical skills
- Adapts to changing workload and assignments depending on the demand.
- Strong customer service aptitude and ability to follow through to resolve customer issues.
- Maintain defined service level agreements.
Desired
- Knowledgeable in Snowflake, Apache Cassandra, Spark/Scala or Databricks.
- Knowledgeable in Java such as J2EE, Spring/Hibernate
- Has experience in Azure or Google Cloud, PCF, REST APIs and exposure to Databricks, Confluent Kafka, and GitHub
- Has experience on using Service-Now, Jira and Confluence
