Focus of the Role
As a Solutions Sales Specialist, you will provide technical advice to the account team and/or customer as required in the development and sale of solutions to customers. You will proactively work with the account team to develop new sales opportunities with customers and prospects. You will also be responsible for building relationships and influencing technical decision makers in prospect organizations, becoming a trusted technical advisor and an evangelist.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will develop solutions that solve client business issues by bridging the gap between business and IT and to deliver on the following responsibilities:
Identify present and future business needs of customers and collaborate with account executives to maximize sales opportunities in winning new deals.
Develop and deliver technical proposals and presentations to customers with content tailored to the audience, encompassing the technical differentiation and value proposition of Telstra's Global Wholesale offerings, including but not limited to Data and IP, wavelength and spectrum services, EPLs / IPLC , Satellite , Wholesale Voice, IP Transit and Internet, IRUs and or leased capacity.
Ensure seamless implementation of solutions to customer specifications and end-state requirements.
Provide specific technical consultancy to customers and resolve issues as required.
Partner with the Account Manager/Inside Sales, in-country Solutions Architect, BDEs, Product, relevant SMEs, and the BID team to ensure the customer is informed about the application of new and emerging technology.
Produce robust, implementable moderate to complex solution designs within the area of expertise.
Provide training to both internal and external customers on Telstra products, services, and solutions (via virtual channels) as needed.
Demonstrate the ability to articulate concepts across several core domains, with a primary focus on cloud and security technologies.
Assist the sales teams in qualifying, building, and closing opportunities by leveraging consulting to deliver differentiated value to clients.
Lead in shaping client thinking and direction through strategy and business optimization consulting.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and experiences:
Minimum 7 years of strong technical expertise in the following areas: Wide Area Network and Enterprise networking (EPL/IPLC, IPVPN, Internet, Transmission, and Sub-sea systems) Managed Services, Satellite, Broadcast and Media Services , Wholesale Voice, Data Centre, wave length and Spectrum.
Minimum 2 years of subject matter expertise delivered to clients in two or more of the following technology domains:
Internet and Transit services
Sub-sea cable, transmission & CLS
Dark Fibre, Layer 2, domestic backbone
Satellite service and earth stations
Operational background highly desirable.
Working knowledge of WAN and transmission systems, including industry trends and emerging technologies.
Exposure to various methodologies, best practices, and technologies.
Technical lead and management experience in multiple projects, with the ability to define and understand customer problems and develop strategies.
Exceptional communication skills, a high level of technical expertise, and a strong passion for technology.
Graduate or post-graduate qualifications (or equivalent industry professional experience) in relevant fields such as, Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science, with substantial experience in information technology and telecommunications networks and applications.
Minimum professional certification: MEF, ITIL, Cisco, Security or equivalent from other technology partners or similar.
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) required
Telecommunications background or experience working in telco accounts is also required.
