The Opportunity

The Transport Solutions Design Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer/Solutions Head, plays a pivotal role in shaping logistics strategies, optimizing supply chain operations, and fostering innovation within our organization. This key position requires a distinctive blend of analytical prowess, creative thinking, and an in-depth understanding of transportation logistics to develop solutions aligned with business objectives. The role encompasses the responsibility of designing transport strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and contribute to environmental sustainability. As an integral team member, the Transport Solutions Design Manager collaborates with the Sales Team and clients, leveraging extensive knowledge of transport solution methodologies to propose mutually beneficial solutions. The Solutions Head will actively participate in identifying, developing, and delivering business solutions and services, serving as the intermediary between BD/Sales and Operations during solutioning and transitions.

Responsibilities:

1.Bid Management , Solution Design, and Price / Cost Optimization

  • Lead and manage bid events with particular focus on strategic, high-value, and design-heavy opportunities.
  • Design optimal configurations of FAST transportation services and managed subcontractors to meet customers service level and cost needs.
  • Secure, maintain, and analyze carrier rates and terms across transportation modes to provide lowest cost- to- serve options meeting the needs of customers and the company.
  • Communicate FAST innovations, technologies, and 3rd-party partnerships as potential value-drivers in customers solutions.

2.Network Optimization

  • Apply network modeling tools to optimize distribution networks.
  • Utilize big data and logistics technologies for network improvement.
  • Analyze existing transportation methods and logistics operations for inefficiencies and improvements.
  • Design innovative and sustainable transport solutions.

3.Subject Matter Expertise and Strategic Guidance

  • Provide subject matter expertise to customers, Business Development, and other account-level management.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop logistics strategies for entering new markets.
  • Assist customers in creating a cost-effective supply chain.

4.Business Development and Sales Support

  • inputs to Sales and Business Development on future trends in fuel and other key consumables.
  • participate in bidding and support integral solutions for offering services.
  • ways to synergize potential new customers and exploit opportunities for growth.

5.Collaboration and Integration

  • with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate logistics solutions into the broader supply chain.
  • advanced software and technologies for transportation planning and design.

6.Financial Assessment

  • cost-benefit analyses for proposed transportation projects and present findings to senior management.

7.Solution Management and Sales Support

  • as a resource person for sales and transport solutioning.
  • a market approach, solution portfolio, and sales/delivery execution model.
  • sales in developing solutions and providing enticing presentation materials.
