Key Responsibilities:
3D Modeling and Design:
- Create detailed 3D models of joinery and metalwork components using SolidWorks.
- Use design tables to manage and automate variations in design.
- Ensure all models meet industry standards and project specifications.
Design Tables:
- Develop and maintain design tables for efficient creation of design configurations.
- Ensure model properties are accurate and efficient.
Production Drawings:
- Produce precise, production-ready drawings from 3D models.
- Include all necessary dimensions, tolerances, and annotations for manufacturing.
- Generate part drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOM).
Joinery and Metalwork Expertise:
- Apply your knowledge of joinery and metalworking to detail components.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure accuracy.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough reviews of models and drawings for accuracy.
- Update models and drawings based on feedback and project changes.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate technical information clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
Documentation and Standards:
- Maintain organized design files, drawings, and related documentation.
- Adhere to company design standards.
Model Properties and Part Codes:
- Create and maintain correct model properties, including material specs, part codes, and surface finishes.
- Manage part codes in SolidWorks for proper identification and tracking.
Drawing Pack Compilation:
- Combine PDF drawings into comprehensive packs using Adobe Acrobat.
- Ensure all packs are well-organized and ready for distribution.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
- Proven experience as a SolidWorks Designer, especially in joinery and metalwork projects.
- Essential experience with design tables in SolidWorks.
Skills:
- Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
- Strong understanding of design tables and their use in SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of joinery techniques and metalworking processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat for managing PDF drawings.
Software:
- Advanced skills in SolidWorks (including design tables).
- Familiarity with other CAD software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
