Software Developer - Ruby on Rails

Job Summary:

• JOB SCOPE:

• Providing server-side logic for user-facing elements developed by front-end developers.

Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code.

• Designing and implementation of low-latency, high-availability and performance applications.

Exposing APIs via REST and other mechanisms.

• Integrating 3rd party platforms.

Implementing security and data protection mechanisms.

• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.

Design robust, scalable and secure features.

• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring and code standards).

• Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design.

• RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ruby on Rails Developers are responsible for writing server-side web application logic in Ruby, around the framework Rails.

Ruby on Rails Developers generally develop back-end components, connect the application with the other web services, and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the application.

• Development of new web applications.

Maintenance of existing web applications.

• Writing server-side web application logic in Ruby.

Create back-end components.

• Connect the application with the other web services.

Extending and maintaining JSON and Liquid-based APIs.

• KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's/Degree Graduate in Engineering, IT and/or other Computer Science related courses.

Good knowledge in client-side JavaScript and HTML/DOM

• Strong background in related API Technologies

Proven work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer

• Proven work experience in software development

Good knowledge of relational databases

• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases

Good knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS and jQuery

• Expert understanding of web technologies (Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/CSS3, Rest API, jQuery, SQL etc.)

Experience developing highly interactive applications

• A firm grasp of object oriented analysis and design

Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
