Software Developer for Automated Reporting and Data Management System

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to build and implement a sophisticated reporting and data management system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI, and a solid understanding of database management and user interface design. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and experience in healthcare data systems is highly beneficial.

• Key Responsibilities:

I. Automated Reporting:

• Develop an automated reporting system that extracts data from Power BI.

Implement features to categorize cognitive indices based on severity and include detailed descriptors and neuroanatomical regions in reports.

• Customize the reporting output to highlight different performance levels using specified color codes.

II. Database Management:

• Design and maintain a secure database to store individual assessment scores over time, facilitating within and between group comparative analysis.

Integrate advanced algorithms for the selection and incorporation of diagnostic and treatment modules, using machine learning to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment personalization.

• Ensure all data handling and storage solutions are HIPAA compliant.

III. User Interface Development:

• Create a dynamic, user-friendly interface that allows non-technical staff to manage and update cognitive indices, test descriptors, and associated neuroanatomical regions without direct interaction with underlying data files.

• Required Skills:

Proficiency in software development with experience in Python, SQL, and front-end frameworks.

• Experience with Power BI and other business intelligence tools.

Strong understanding of data privacy and security, specifically HIPAA compliance in healthcare settings.

• Ability to design intuitive user interfaces for complex data systems.

• Qualifications:

Experience: At least 3 years of software engineering experience, ideally within a healthcare.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages. Experience with Power BI. Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS is a plus.

Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and FDA requirements for software and medical devices.

• Problem-Solving and Innovation: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving complex software issues.

Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Effective communication in both technical and non-technical contexts.

• Product-to-Market Expertise: Demonstrated experience in taking software products from concept to market, with a focus on compliance and regulatory considerations.

The NeuroCognitive & Behavioral Institute specializes in diagnosing and treating cognitive, neuropsychiatric and neurobehavioral disorders in pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

We have 5 clinical programs/centers that are represented in each of our 3 outpatient clinics:

• The Neurodevelopmental Diagnostics and Treatment Center;

The Center for Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injury;

• The Mind-Body Neuropsychiatric and Mental Health Disorders Center:

The Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Neurodegenerative diseases and;

• The Sleep Study and Treatment Center.

NCBI clinics are located in Morris, Somerset and Essex County NJ. We also have a very active clinical research division of NCBI where we conduct early-late drug development, functional brain mapping and neuromodulation research. Many of our researchers also work at The NCI Clinical Research Foundation which is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing neuroscience research. We also conduct all of the neurodiagnostic and medical device research for a private medical device company.
