We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Education Technology Platform Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will help ensure the reliability and performance of our digital learning platforms, serving millions of learners worldwide. What will you do as a SRE
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work alongside experienced SREs and developers, learning to enhance our platform's reliability through automation and monitoring. Your development background will be valuable as you help bridge the gap between development and operations teams. With a focus on continuous improvement and learning, you will participate in various aspects of platform operations, from implementing monitoring solutions to contributing to incident response processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts to improve system efficiency
- Monitoring platform performance and helping identify potential issues
- Contributing to incident response under senior guidance
- Implementing logging and monitoring solutions
- Participating in code reviews and deployment processes
- Creating technical documentation
- Collaborating with development teams to enhance deployment workflows
- Engaging in continuous learning about cloud technologies and SRE practices
What makes you the ideal candidate for this role
- You have 1-2 years of software development experience, with a focus on backend development
- Experience with at least one high-level programming language (such as Python, TypeScript or Go)
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, preferably with some exposure to AWS
- Familiarity with version control systems (particularly Git) and CI/CD principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Interest in automation and improving system reliability
- Comfort with data analysis and basic system monitoring concepts
Additional beneficial experiences:
- Exposure to Linux/Unix operating systems
- Basic understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker)
- Experience with any monitoring or logging tools
- Interest in DevOps practices and methodologies
