Site Engineer

SITE ENGINEER responsible in supervision and exertion on projects site from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. An understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Project In Charge typically confer with Project Managers, Clients, Foreman, Consultant, Subcon or other managers to monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes. They must ensure that a project is completed according to schedule, managers must resolve problems that arise due to inclement weather, emergencies or other issues that may cause delays.

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Overall Duties and Responsibility:

• Prepares detailed schedule tied up on the general schedule prepared by the Project Manager

Conducts surveying using correct methods, procedures and instruments together with PM, Foreman and all parties concerned

• Verifies the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites

Directs surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles

• Conducts toolbox meeting and ensure safe work practices are implemented

Preparation and submission of reports on time

-Operations Report (Progress Report based on detailed schedule prepared by PIC tied up to general schedule prepared by PM)

-Weekly concerns (Tools/ Eqpt for Repair, Delayed Delivery of Materials, Plan Conflicts, etc. )

-Daily activity (Manpower, Weather, Activities Completion, Concerns, Equipment Monitoring)

• Review and coordinate plans and ensure elevation will not conflict with each other. i.e. Review of structural plan in coordination with the architectural and MEPF plan; and ensure strict implementation

Prepares request for information (RFI) and follow up response in case of plan deviation / conflict from the structural designer

• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines and other characteristics of terrain

Ensures grid lines, base lines and reference points are correct; implements correct usage of reference points in all trades

• Prepares rehash estimate based on latest For Construction Plans

Prepares MRS (Materials Requisition Slip) based on estimates

• Coordinates delivery schedules of materials considering actual site condition i.e storage capacity; materials expiration dates et. al.

Inspects delivered material together with stock clerk/ warehouse man / logistics representative ensuring compliance with specification i.e Ensuring materials accepted are conforming to specifications, quality, and right quantity

• Checks, monitors and records daily incoming/outgoing of materials

Responsible for efficiency and productivity of manpower; Decides manpower distribution to ensure timely and quality completion of activities.

• Ensure proper usage and efficiency of heavy equipment such as: Backhoe, Skid Loader, Road Roller, Plate Compactor/ Soil Rammer Compactor/ Soil Compactor, Others

Monitors concrete and formworks productivity

• Estimates scaffolding (formworks) materials including supervision and installation

Ensures proper usage and utilization of formworks materials

• Coordination with RMC and overall supervision before and during concrete placement

Ensures proper curing of poured structure

• Ensure formworks stripping are within allowable requirement

Ensures rebar installation are properly implemented

• Should know economical splice zone and ensure full implementation

Initiates condemnation of scrap rebar for disposal

• Supervises topping of waterproofed areas

Conducts and witness flood testing for waterproofing and dye penetrant test for metal works

• Turnover and acceptance to other trades

Supervise, evaluate billing and act as QC for subcontractors on-site such as Metal Works and Roof Cover, Railing, Atrium frame and roofing, Canopy frame, Laundry cage frame and roofing, Steel trellis, Installation of glass doors and windows, Waterproofing, Board works Installation, Granite Countertop, Exterior and Interior Painting, Parquet/ Vinyl Flooring, Kitchen Cabinet, Others

• Conducts initial punch list and ensures that these are rectified prior to turnover to owner

Requests/ Schedules inspection by PM of completed works prior to turnover to owner

• Ensures action to owner's complaints / punch lists not more than 24 hours

Generally, coordinates site concerns to PM and other departments

• Documents Site Activities and all other needed information in a Construction Logbook.

Documents Site Instructions either from client or designer and tag it as either Change Order or Additional Order, to be approved by PM and Owner prior to commencement of works.

• Provides a 2 Week Rolling Look Ahead Schedule.

Requests for MRF and MRS needed in project site.

• Prepares Minutes of the Meeting per Site Meeting to be submitted to PM

Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status.

• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
