The Role

The ServiceNow Developer will be responsible to develop, invest, and maintain thought leadership with deep subject matter expertise related to ServiceNow ITSM and HR product capabilities and complementary technologies including but not limited to; Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, CMDB, Knowledge, Service Level Agreement/Management, Asset, Vendor, Contract, and Procurement Management; Customer Service Management, Custom Scoped Applications, Service Portal, and HR Module.

This position is expected to work both independently and with various teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead/participate in workshops to gather business/technical user stories.
  • Consult customers and team members on industry and ServiceNow best practices.
  • Scoped Application Development.
  • Application UI Configuration and Workflow Configuration.
  • Development of required integration components (SSO, LDAP, REST/SOAP Web Services).
  • Service Catalog structuring and Widget development.
  • Creation and delivery of solutions for customers addressing requirements through technical architecture in consideration of process design and technical best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the creation, deployment, and maintenance of technical best practices and standards.
  • Adhere to ServiceNow development standards.
  • Follow SDLC best practices including those around proper testing and code documentation.
  • Follow the organization's change management policy for all configuration changes, including vendor-made changes.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ Years of development experience, 3 years with ServiceNow.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field of study. Or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled with JavaScript, Angular.js, JQuery, and/or BootStrap.js
  • Proficiency with Agile project management and delivery methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical information in an articulate manner.

Licensure/Certification

  • ITIL v3 Foundations/ServiceNow Administrator.
  • ITIL v3 Intermediate

Experienced Preferred

  • Proficiency with how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
  • Proficiency with web service standards such as SOAP, REST, XML, etc.
  • Proficiency with web API's, Data Integrations/ETL, Relational Databases.

Additional details

  • Requires on-call duty 24-hrs/day as a part of a rotation schedule for emergency response to critical technical situations requiring immediate attention.
