Job Title: ServiceNow Administrator/Developer
Function/Department: IT/Platform Services
Reports to: Manager, Global IT Service Management
Job Summary:
The ServiceNow Administrator/Developer will serve as application support for the ServiceNow Platform. As such, he/she will be responsible for the day-to-day development and administration of the Vertiv ServiceNow platforms. The role will also handle many of the development and administrative tasks, including managing all instances, user administration, development standards, code review, code migration, development backlog, and issue resolution. This role will also be responsible for development and development implementation efforts regarding instance upgrades, enhancements, defects, and new functionality.
Responsibilities:
Development expertise in current versions of ServiceNow (from San Diego)
Provide development and administrative support of all implemented areas of the ServiceNow
Perform development on the backlog of enhancements and defects
Support all ServiceNow integrations to other supported platforms
Responsible for code and enforcing coding standards
Perform code and configuration reviews of all developments efforts to ensure code quality
Coordinate and implement requirements using Workflow, JavaScript, HTML, XML, REST, Orchestration, and other ServiceNow supported configurations
Assist in the creation of guidelines and standards documentation for the ServiceNow development lifecycle
Collaborate with Process Owners to develop, deploy, integrate, update, and administer the ServiceNow platform to meet client needs and assume accountability for design, development, unit testing, implementation, and deployment deadlines
Coordinate and implement the scheduling of upgrades and/or service packs, testing of such upgrades and general maintenance of ServiceNow
Research systems and/or programs to determine root causes of failure or poor operational performance; then define, test and implement detailed solutions
Work with process and application owners to seek out Service Improvement Opportunities
Provide ServiceNow support to other lines of business as needed both domestic and globally
Coordinate operational and reporting metrics for ServiceNow and related components of the ITSM platform
Develop and create dashboards and reports as needed
Responsible for leading the ServiceNow platform upgrades once a year and ensures that our application is compliant with the contract that we have with the vendor.
Responsible in setting up and maintaining ServiceNow LDAP servers and user table clean up.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
2+ years of hands on experience with ServiceNow administration and development
ServiceNow ITSM Administrator certification required
ServiceNow Application Developer certification preferred
ITIL v3 Foundations Certification preferred
Working experience with front-end programming languages: JavaScript, Bootstrap, and AngularJS
Working knowledge of ServiceNow integrations including but not limited to Active Directory, LDAP, and relational databases (SQL, etc.)
Demonstration of developmental understanding of ServiceNow suite, how it interfaces with other ITIL Processes, IT operations, and business functions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in AgileScrum and Waterfall methodologies
Experience building catalog requests for use on the Service Portal required
Experience building integrations (SOAP/REST) in order to automate communication with other platforms (Active Directory, etc.) required
Skilled at managing multiple work streams, prioritizing work to meet deadlines
Experience working with the CMDB
Experience working with other resources for ServiceNow development efforts
Experience working with Discovery and Performance Analytics is a bonus
