Role overview:
You will be responsible for operating the Atmail cloud platforms to ensure high availability, stability and secure environments. You will review and prioritise the regular submissions of work requests from the wider Atmail team from multiple internal customers. Your will directly communicate with key stakeholders, interna and external to Atmail with a dedicated focus on the efficient operation of scalable, stable, secure and cost efficient solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Engage and contribute to the formation of operational plans
- Assist, and provide advice, to deliver new platform features and services in alignment with Atmail's roadmap and strategy.
- Assist in establishing appropriate measurements of success and participating in ensuring the standards are met.
- Work closely with, and guide, the various engineering teams through the accurate implementation of software and platform requirements.
- Resolve technical issues and facilitate technical communication between stakeholders to support customers and improve the product and customer experience.
- Assist as required in the resolution of customer problems providing technical support and solution guidance and identifying opportunities to delight the customer.
- Perform on call roster duties as required, resolving technical situations with the customer and business front of mind.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience in hands-on technical roles in a software engineering and/or platform operations role, or similar.
- A total working experience of 7+ years, with at least 5 years in the field of Information Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve customer problems and deliver holistic solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of an agile team environment with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- extensive experience in systems programming languages and unix-based operating systems including Bash, Python, Linux, MySQL.
- Knowledge in cloud technologies such as, but not limited to: AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS and related services, Google Cloud Platform and related services.
- Knowledge with infrastructure as code and automation technologies such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or similar.
- Broad industry knowledge and experience, as it relates to platform engineering, software development, quality assurance, security and SaaS operations methodologies.
- A Bachelor (or higher) degree in a technology field, or equivalent experience.
- A high level of initiative, proactivity, and informal leadership qualities.
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify improvements, determine priorities.
