GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for leading the month-end closing process, adherence and enforcing timelines, performing, and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations. Also responsible for fixed asset accounting, sales tax compliance and reporting, tracking intercompany transactions and overall maintenance of accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Month-End, Quarter-End, Year-End Close Process
Maintain and review monthly account reconciliations and appropriate roll-forwards.
Process daily cash activities, perform monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts and credit card reconciliations.
Maintain documentation and provide support and backup for external auditors.
Accounts Payable
Entering bills into Bill.com and reconciling the balance against general ledger.
Preparing weekly AP review schedules
Maintain Invoice Vendor Approvers in Bill.com and manage workflows and timely invoice review and approvals from Invoice Vendor Approvers
COGS and Inventory
Understanding the related nature of revenue and COGS transactions and reconciling the activity to support proper recording in the GL.
Quarterly Inventory reconciliation.
Process Improvement and Ad-hoc projects
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Mergers & Acquisition experience is preferred
General knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 842, ASC 606
MS Office with exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
ERP Systems (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Acumatica others)
Bill.com and other expense management tools
ConnectWise
Private Equity Portfolio Company experience preferred or Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, or Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience.
4-6 years accounting experience
Excellent analytical skills including Microsoft Excel skills
Expertise with cost and inventory accounting is preferred
