Job Description
- Ensure that team member is all aware of all safety requirements, Company policies and follow all approved procedures in undertaking their task.
- Review Paste Plant procedures to ensure that safe condition is observed in the workplace.
- Monitor day-to-day Paste Plant performance and all related operational activities to ensure safety and target operating parameters are adhered.
- Proper coordination and communication to Underground personnel prior to starting and stopping any paste-filling activities to avoid any untoward accidents.
- Work collaboratively with managers, superintendents and supervisors from several departments related to Paste Plant operations, including but not limited to Mining, Technical Services, Metallurgy, Process Plant and Maintenance section to achieve the optimum plant performance.
- Minimize operational downtime by proper execution of shutdown plans and take immediate action to correct at-risk conditions that could cause plant shutdown.
- Mentor new operators and responsible for the operators training and development
- Cross-training of the operators on different areas of the plant for them to gain knowledge and experience and to keep them updated on any changes at the plant
Qualifications
- Behavior consistent with OceanaGold Values and Code of Conduct.
- Minimum of 10 years of Paste Plant operating experience is essential and exposure to the supervision of Paste Plant operation.
- Proven skills in leadership, coaching and performance management.
- Display a hands-on approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to engage directly with operational challenges at various levels.
- Display high degree of safety and environmental awareness.
