What Were Looking For
We are looking for a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer with previous experience working in adtech to provide enterprise-level assistance to our publishers and help ensure that they are maximizing revenues through our advertising technology platforms.
You will have several years of experience in frontend development, with a focus on Javascript and CSS, as well as familiarity with one or more Javascript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue). You should have deep familiarity with using Developer Tools to assist in debugging and troubleshooting, as well as experience in cross-platform testing using tools like Browserstack and CrossBrowserTesting.
This is an exciting role that is a crucial part of Venatus and includes full ownership of triaging, researching, diagnosing, and identifying solutions to publisher issues.
A core focus of this role is troubleshooting and resolving conflicts between the front-end code on our publisher sites and our internal Javascript ad tags which our publishers embed on their sites to facilitate their on-site advertising.
You will identify and resolve problems that are preventing successful ad delivery to publishers, including cases where publishers have embedded our tags incorrectly, and misconfigurations in our internal systems that interface between our publisher sites and our external advertising partners.
This role also requires someone with a native or near-native ability in English, both written and spoken. And very importantly, someone that enjoys communicating technical, and at times complex, issues to others.
You will use email and chat applications to give both our internal Operations team and external clients quick answers to issues. When more complex issues arise that require it, you will contact clients via phone or video conference and lead the authoring and maintenance of our knowledge base articles and manuals to educate our internal teams as well as our clients.
To be qualified for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field, like Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering or have equivalent experience. A solid understanding of online advertising, especially Google Ad Manager, would be a particularly strong asset.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify solutions to ad serving (display, video and rich media) issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and configuration within internal Venatus platforms
- Ask publishers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
- Track issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
- Talk clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until theyve solved a technical issue
- Properly escalate issues and lead coordination with appropriate internal teams (e.g. Engineering)
- Provide prompt and accurate feedback to publishers
- Utilize internal documentation and external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
- Ensure all issues and their steps to resolution are properly logged
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
- Follow up with clients to ensure their platform use is fully functional after troubleshooting
- Prepare accurate and timely reports
- Document technical knowledge in the form of knowledge base articles, notes and manuals
- Maintain good relationships with clients
- Ability to work remotely and independently
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Technical Solutions Engineer, Front-End Developer, Front-End Software Test Engineer, or similar role with professional knowledge of JavaScript, CSS and other client-side code
- Previous experience with Google Ad Manager, ad servers (Xandr/AppNexus) SSPs (Index Exchange, Rubicon etc) or other adtech platforms
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
- Familiarity with help desk and CRM software (eg. Jira, Hubspot)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to provide step-by-step technical guidance, both written and verbal
- BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Business-level verbal and written English
Experience in these areas would also be a bonus:
- Previous experience working in software testing or test automation
Compensation & Benefits:
- A competitive salary and excellent career opportunities in a growing, international company
- Team building and training sessions
- Option to buy and sell annual leave allowance
