OVERVIEW:We are on the lookout for a versatile Senior Engineer to enhance our dynamic and innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and executing sophisticated technological solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients. You will work directly with clients, project managers, and technical teams, ensuring the seamless integration and implementation of strategic initiatives across the company.
Solution Architecture: Design robust architectures encompassing system, application, data, and integration layers. Focus on security, practicality, and reliability to support solution deployments.
- Technical Leadership and Guidance: Lead technical strategy and provide oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Mentor and guide developers in best practices, solution implementation, and architectural decisions.
Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, specifications, and technical guides, maintaining alignment with industry standards and best practices.- Technology Assessment and Integration: Continuously explore emerging technologies and assess their potential integration into our solutions. Make strategic recommendations on the adoption of new technologies and tools.
Quality and Performance Assurance: Engage in rigorous quality assurance practices including code reviews, testing protocols, and performance assessments to uphold and surpass quality benchmarks.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Proactively identify risks and technical obstacles in projects. Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
Collaborative Project Execution: Work collaboratively with diverse teams, including project management, development, and operations, to ensure timely and budget-aligned delivery of technical solutions.
Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in PHP or other relevant programming languages.- Experience with JavaScript and familiarity with React Native for potential cross-functional projects.
Experience with LAMP Stack: Extensive experience in developing and managing applications on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MariaDB, PHP) stack.
- Backend Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing robust service backends. Knowledge of RESTful API design, development, and management using modern frameworks and tools.
API Gateway: Experience working with API gateways and understanding of service-oriented architecture. Ability to design and implement secure APIs for both internal and external consumption.- Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda. Familiarity with AWS deployment frameworks and management tools such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFormation, or similar.
Database Management: Proficiency in MariaDB and/or other relational database management systems. Experience with database design and query optimization.
- Security Practices: In-depth knowledge of security best practices in web development and cloud deployments. Experience with securing APIs and sensitive data handling.
DevOps Practices: Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools. Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.- Scalability and Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing applications and infrastructure for scalability and high performance. Understanding of load balancing, caching, and performance tuning.
Problem Solving and Innovation: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize existing technologies, and innovate new solutions to improve system efficiency and performance.
Excellent English communication skills (C1 and up).
- Availability and commitment to work full time (40 hrs/week) within U.S. time zone
Proven experience in software architecture and development with a broad skill set covering multiple technologies and platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a focus on strategic risk management.- Proficiency in documenting complex architectures and making informed technological choices.
