Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our retail operations. The main responsibilities include handling month-end closing, reconciliation, and research for taxes and permits related to our retail locations.
Perform retail inventory adjustments and manage uniform allowances.- Calculate and record the percentage rent.
Accrue credit card transactions and manage related entries.
- Account for prepaid rent.
Accrue merchant fees.- Reconcile transactional retail sales and prepare the retail sales journal for audit purposes.
Oversee daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile cash and credit card transactions daily to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Conduct thorough research on taxes and permits applicable to our retail locations.- Ensure accurate filing and timely renewal of all required taxes and permits.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as needed.- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in retail accounting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CPA certification is a plus.
