JOB DESCRIPTION (ROLES & RESPONSIBILITY)As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include overseeing and managing all aspects of the quantity surveying process within the organization. This will involve leading a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports, as well as conducting risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
Additionally, you will be required to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project life cycle.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential for this role, as well as a thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and industry regulations.
- JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree may be preferred.
- Professional certification or membership with relevant organizations such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
- Several years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and project management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of quantity surveyors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in quantity surveying and cost management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
- A proactive and results-driven approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
