Title: Senior Platform Manager
Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic T-skilled
Senior Platform Manager with a proven track record in spearheading the creation of sophisticated data platforms and data-centric applications using various technologies and design principles. This pivotal role involves implementing and guiding vendors in the development of advanced platforms such as Customer 360, decision engines, streaming engines, and robust data fabrics/caches. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a team of data platform engineers, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data platform solutions using a variety of technologies including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, and Kafka.
- Develop and enforce data governance and security policies to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Optimize data platform configurations/setup and workflows to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Implement real-time data processing and streaming solutions using Kafka.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the data platform.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of data services.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization for data infrastructure.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party tools and services.
Education
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related course
Certification
- Preferably, with Certification in Snowflake, Databricks, or related technologies
Work Experience
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Data Engineering: 8+ years in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data platforms.
- Leadership & Management: 3+ years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
- Software Engineering Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in software development practices.
- Data Warehouse Experitse: In-depth experience with Snowflake and Databricks, optimizing performance and managing large datasets.
- Big Data Technologies: Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Hive for designing and managing big data architectures.
- Real-Time Data Streaming: Familiarity with Apache Kafka for implementing and managing real-time data pipelines.
- Data Pipeline Management: Extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Implementing data governance policies, ensuring compliance, and managing data security.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Driving innovation in data engineering by adopting new technologies and implementing process improvements.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
