Title: Senior Materials Development Engineer

Hue Lens is hiring a Senior Materials Development Engineer in the Philippines. RESPONSIBILITIES

Materials Development (80%):

• Lead materials development projects for a new line of lens products (polymer focus).
• Evaluate potential materials/chemicals if suitable for the application/goal.
• Plan and execute experiments to characterize material properties.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve deliverables on time.
• Work with different suppliers and manufacturers for sampling and prototypes.

Product Design and Development (20%):

• Create and design new lens products.
• Use color science models in MATLAB to simulate the visual performance.
• Provide technical support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree: Chemistry/Material Science & Engineering/Chemical Engineering or similar. A Masters Degree is preferred.

Target Background:

• Knowledgeable on the chemistry and materials science of polymers.
• Understands the interaction of polymers with light.
• With prior experience in material development of polymers.

Other Requirements:

• Laboratory Access and Experimentation: Ability to secure lab access for experiments.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Self-Motivated
• Optional but preferred:
• Simulation Software and Coding Proficiency, specifically in MATLAB
• High Academic Achievement: GWA exceeding 1.75 or 3.00 depending on the grading system (B+ or above).
